Steady force Test

Conform to standard:

IEC62368-1:2010 T.4 Steady force test, 100 N

External enclosures of:

− transportable equipment; and

− hand-held equipment; and

− direct plug-in equipment;

are subjected to a steady force of 100 N ± 10 N over a circular plane surface 30 mm

in diameter for a period of 5 s, applied in turn to the top, bottom and sides.

IEC62368-1:2010 T.5 Steady force test, 250 N

External enclosures of equipment, except those covered in Clause T.4, are subjected

to a steady force of 250 N ± 10 N over a circular plane surface 30 mm in diameter for

a period of 5 s, applied in turn to the top, bottom and sides. However, this test is not

applied to the bottom of equipment having a mass of more than 18 kg.

Application:

Mechanical strength tests,No tests are applied to handles, levers, knobs, the face of

CRTs or to transparent or translucent covers of indicating or measuring devices,

unless parts at ES3 are accessible when the handle, lever, knob or cover is removed.
